House Concert in Salisbury, NC

Seth's House

This was the first time I hosted a house concert.  It was a labor of love for several reasons, but mostly because Susan Mohini Kane, the singer, is a long-time friend.  I viewed it as an opportunity to accomplish several goals.  First, the performance helped my talented friend reach folks in my town.  Second, having a local concert helped build community.  Third, using my house gave people a warm and welcoming venue that was inexpensive, comfortable, and allowed them to be close to Susan.   After time for food and drink, we started the music. It was obvious from the start that our guests were enthralled by the experience, and their enjoyment and participation continued throughout the evening.  Susan approaches music as a way to bring people together, and she was spectacularly successful at that.  People here still talk about it.  That’s a high compliment. ~Seth

House Concert in Hurleyville, NY

Janet's House

This was such a great evening full of love and music. It might just be my favorite concert to perform ever! We sold out our 22 seats and everyone seemed to truly enjoy the music and the community! ~Susan

While I have listened to Susan’s songs on Spotify, her concert is far more special and can only be described as “Wow! First, Susan is delightful and creates a loving space. But in concert, Susan shares the stories and challenges in her life from which the songs come out of. I can’t think of a concert that I have enjoyed more. ~Karnadev (audience member)

Batavia Stop on the Mohini 2024 US Tour

Susan Mohini Kane graciously squeezed in a stop in Batavia, IL on May 6 during her whirlwind cross-country 2024 "Waking Up in Wonderland" CD release tour. She filled our piano room with music that was joy-filled, poignant, inspiring, thought-provoking. Throw in lots of dashes of humor, and it was a spectacular evening, Obviously, Susan sings from the heart and enthusiastically whether it's a packed auditorium or an intimate gathering of a dozen people. A true musician. And just to add a little pressure to our talented friend, some of her audience were professional musicians in their own right. She wowed them and even hung around for a little post-concert sing-along. Bet Taylor Swift doesn't do that! SMK is welcome in our home anytime. Can't wait for the next tour. ~Mike & Valerie

This concert was full of family and friends, and some amazing musicians too.  It was such a special night that Mike and Valerie and some friends ended the concert by performing some songs themselves! It was so beautiful. ~Susan

House Concert in Kerhonkson, NY

Amplimansion Retreat

Everyone in this room performed at this wonderful concert! It was such a special night of music and sharing. After the main concert, a few of us decided to share our saddest songs and called it Trauma-rama! It was so fun! ~Susan

Want to host your own house concert?

Here's how…

1 - We find a date that works for both of us.

2 - You invite friends and family and neighbors and ask for a $20-$25/person donation that all goes the artist (me.)

3 - You have it in a big room in your house or maybe your back yard - or - folks have even had it at their church or community center. Really - anywhere!

4 - You can provide snacks or make it a potluck and have folks arrive about an hour before the music starts.

5 - I bring my little PA and I play songs and tell stories for a couple hours. I sell CDs and t-shirts and stickers, that kind of thing - and between that and the donations and tips… I make a decent amount of money and get to keep doing this!

If the donations thing doesn’t work for you - we can also talk about a guarantee so your guests don’t pay anything. I am super flexible!
